A family trip can make a room feel small before anybody has even gone to sleep. There are bags to open, clothes to dry, somebody looking for a charger and somebody else needing the bathroom. Ao-Nang Timber House would interest me because recent guest accounts repeatedly talk about room space and everyday convenience, not just the appearance of the hotel.
I would use the current listing name when booking; an older list may simply call it Timber House Hotel. Then I would check the exact family category. More floor space is welcome, but it does not automatically mean more beds, a second bathroom or the privacy the group expects.
What recent feedback suggests
Agoda reports from 2026 praise generous rooms, helpful staff, nearby services and useful parking. A guest mentions noise through a connecting door and suggests better pool maintenance. Another reports noise from a neighboring restaurant. These are individual observations, so I would ask about the category and room position before assuming either a quiet stay or a problem in every room.
I would also confirm any parking arrangement directly if driving. A favorable account from another family is encouraging, but it does not reserve a space for yours. Arrival time, number of vehicles and the exact parking location are practical details worth settling before the journey.
The family-room test
Write down who needs which sleeping arrangement, then match that to the category description. If two adults and children are sharing, check whether the additional bedding is included and whether occupancy changes the final price. If older children need privacy, confirm whether the layout provides it rather than assuming a larger room is divided.
For connecting rooms, ask whether the connection is guaranteed or merely requested. A connecting door can be helpful for a family, but sound can travel between rooms. Discuss whether that matters for your group’s sleep schedule. The most useful arrangement is one everyone understands before arriving.

A day that does not exhaust everyone
I would plan one main activity and leave the rest flexible. Families rarely move at the speed of a carefully timed solo itinerary. An outing followed by an unhurried meal and room break is often more enjoyable than trying to complete three attractions because they look close together on a map.
Keep a light bag ready for the day with the essentials everyone actually needs. Avoid carrying all the room’s equipment on every outing. If filming, choose a few moments and put the camera away for the rest. A holiday video is nicer when making it does not become the main activity for everyone in the group.
Pool and noise questions before paying
If the pool is important, ask about its current operating status and maintenance. For children, clarify the available depth information and supervise them regardless of any favorable guest account. Keep another easy afternoon option so that weather or maintenance does not turn into disappointment.
For sleep, ask whether the room is affected by nearby restaurant activity or a connecting arrangement you do not need. Requests should be specific and realistic. If the only available category does not fit a light sleeper, compare another property rather than expect the neighborhood to become quiet because you have an early start.
The final comparison
I would compare the whole stay: beds, access, parking, breakfast and the journeys you expect to make. A larger room can be worth a little extra when several people need space to reset. It is less valuable if the sleeping arrangement still does not work, so keep the practical details ahead of the room’s appearance.
Timber House belongs on my shortlist for a family or group who values room space and a useful Ao Nang routine. I would choose it after confirming the category, current facilities and likely noise exposure. A good group hotel is rarely the one with the most dramatic promise. It is the one that lets everybody unpack, rest and get out again without turning the ordinary parts of travel into unnecessary work.
